Why can't I sync music with my MusicMatch Jukebox™ software? |
Yahoo acquired MusicMatch Jukebox and subsequently discontinued distribution of MusicMatch Jukebox as of August 31, 2007 as well as suspending all support of the MusicMatch services.
We appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide service information for your product. Since MusicMatch has been discontinued, no updates will be available for their software.
You may still download music off a music-sharing site of your choice but you will need to use Windows Media Player. To see how to manage files using Windows Media Player, please microsoft.com.

Why won't my M100256 turn on when I press the Play button?
|
- Make sure the battery is fully charged.
- This unit may temporarily cease to function if subjected to electrostatic disturbance. To resume to normal functioning, you may use a pin to activate the reset button. However, doing so will reset the menu to factory default settings.
|
Why is my M100256 skipping tracks or has bad sound quality?
|
- Check to see if the repeat, random or program functions may be activated.
- There may be strong magnetic fields
(e.g. too close to TV) near the unit.
- Make sure the battery is fully charged.
- Try re-recording the track.
|
Why won't my M100256 playback tracks? |
- Make sure the LOCK function is not activated.
- Make sure there are mp3/WMA tracks in the internal memory.
- Try resetting the player.
- Make sure audio tracks are encoded in the mp3 or Windows Media formats at supported bitrates. Bitrates supported by the player:
-
- mp3 - 32 to 320 kbps
- wma - 48 to 192 kbps
- WMA files may be DRM protected and you don't have the proper rights (license) to play the files.
- Check the website and/or application help system of the music download service provider from where the content was purchased for license acquisition details. For more information on how license acquisition works, go to www.microsoft.com.
- Play the original or downloaded song on your computer to ensure that there was nothing wrong with the encoding of the mp3 or WMA.
|
Why isn't the USB display showing when I connect my M100256 to the computer?
|
- Check connection between your unit
and the computer.
- Check if the USB drivers are properly
installed.
- Use USB extension cable (provided)
may improve connection.
- You may have to re-associate the
drive letter that was assigned to the device. Please check your help on Windows for details on assigning a different drive letter.

What does the PlaysForSure logo mean? |
- PlaysForSure is a new logo program from Microsoft®. Consumers can match the PlaysForSure logo on a large selection of devices and online music stores.
- If you see the logo, you'll know your digital media will play for sure. For more information on the Microsoft PlaysForSure
program, visit www.PlaysForSure.com.

Why won't the M100256 work or charge after having been charged with my Universal Charger? |
MP3 players are only tested through the computer via the USB cable, so that is the only way we support charging the player.
Risks of charging the player with a universal charger:
- If you try a universal charger, it would be at your own risk.
- If you get a universal charger that produces too much power, it could damage the player.
- Normally the computer can sense when the player is fully charged, if you use a universal charger and it sends over a contact charge even after the battery is full, it can also damage your player.
