Troubleshooting the RCA VR5235 Voice Recorder

Why doesn't the VR5235 turn on? 

• Check that batteries are properly inserted and not exhausted.
• Make sure the battery compartment door is properly closed.

Why can't I record on the VR5235?

• Make sure the LOCK function is not activated.
• Make sure memory is not full.
• You have recorded 200 files in one folder. Try to record in a new folder.

Why is the VR5235 showing an incorrect recording date and time during playback?

• You may have not set the date and time before recording. Refer to the Setting date and time section.

Why isn't there any sound coming from the VR5235's speaker during playback?

• Make sure volume is not set to 0.
• Headphones should not be connected.

Why can't I activate the VR5235 after sliding the Lock/Power switch to Power?

• Remove the batteries to reset the player.

Why does the recordable time keep becoming shorter on the VR5235?

• You may have set the recording quality to ‘High Quality’. Refer to the Setting recording quality section.

Why can't I perform playback on the VR5235?

• Make sure you have selected a folder which contains recorded messages.
• Make sure the LOCK function is not activated.

Why can't I delete recorded file(s) on the VR5235?

• Make sure you follow each step under the Deleting Files section carefully.
