Why can't I delete files on my TH1702 MP3 Player? |
- For any files you have transferred to the player, you may delete them while you have connected the player with your computer. Highlight the unwanted file in the player's file directory on your computer and press the delete key on your computer to delete the file. Subscribed files are best to be removed through Windows Media Player.
- During playback, press Play/Pause to display the Options menu to delete the file.

Why does my TH1702 MP3 Player repeat the same track or all tracks? |
Repeat play is turned on.
- Press the Play/Pause button to show the option menu and change the play mode.

Why is the audio distorted when my TH1702 MP3 Player is at a high volume? |
- Change the equalizer mode to Flat.
- Turn down the volume.

Why do the audio tracks on my TH1702 MP3 Player keep skipping or popping? |
- You will need to re-record the audio track.
- Make sure you close all other applications on your PC when you record.
- Try recording with Error Correction setting turned on.

- Your player turns itself off if you leave it in pause mode or navigation mode for the duration specified in the PowerSave setting.

- Make sure audio tracks are encoded in the mp3 or Windows Media formats at supported bitrates. Bitrates supported by the player are mp3 at 32 to 320 kbps and wma at 48 to 192 kbps.
- WMA files may be DRM protected and you don't have the proper rights (license) to play the files.
- Check the website and/or application help system of the music download service provider from where the content was purchased from for license acquisition details. For more information on how license acquisition works, go to www.microsoft.com.

Why does my TH1702 MP3 player stop voice recording automatically after 5 hours? |
The maximum duration for each recording is 5 hours.
- Start a new recording after the maximum duration is reached.

- Try connecting your player to a different USB port in your computer.
- If you are using a laptop with a docking station, please temporarily remove the laptop from the docking station and connect the player directly to the laptop.
- If you are using a hub, please temporarily remove the hub and connect the player directly to the PC.

Why did the RCA easyRip software fail to upgrade on my TH1702 MP3 Player? |
If you see the "Initializing…" message displayed on the player for more than 5 minutes, or your player cannot be upgraded successfully, please try the following steps:
- Disconnect your Player.
- Reset the Player by removing and re-installing the battery.
- Hold down the Play/Pause key on your Player and connect it to the PC via a USB cable.
- Release the Play/Pause key when a progress bar and "initializing" appears on the display.
- If you cannot see "initializing", please disconnect your Player and try again.

Why can't I find a bookmark feature on my TH1702 MP3 Player? |
- There is not a bookmark function on the player. But it will remember what song you powered off on as long as you press play when you power the unit back on.

What do I do if I get a Fatal Error message on my TH1702 MP3 Player? |
- Reset the player by removing and re-installing the battery.
- If the Reset does not work, then you can reformat the player.
Caution: Formatting the player will erase all files on the player! Be sure to back up the contents of the player before reformatting.

We suggest you uninstall and then reinstall RCA EasyRip for Windows Vista. To do this:
- Click Start and then Programs.
- Select RCA EasyRip.
- Choose Uninstall RCA EasyRip.
- Once uninstall is complete, then reinstall the latest version of RCA EasyRip by clicking here.

- Please press the menu button once. When you see the now playing symbol on the screen you are then in the menu. Use the volume + and - buttons to navigate through the menu.

Why can I only record easyRip™ video or audio for certain lengths of time on my TH1702? |
- These restrictions were put in place to ensure that recorded audio and video files would be limited in size to ensure they would not occupy too much space on your digital media device, allowing you to maximize the amount of diverse media you can have on your device.
- Maximum record durations can be changed in the Recorder Preferences.

- Right-click on the RCA Detective icon in the taskbar.
- Click on the RCA EasyRip icon to launch the RCA EasyRip Module Dock.
No, the RCA Detective icon is NOT in my computer's taskbar:
- Click on 'Start' and select 'All Programs.'
- Select 'RCA Detective,' then click on the 'RCA Detective' displayed with the icon.
- Right-click on the RCA Detective icon in the taskbar.
- Click on the RCA EasyRip icon to launch the RCA EasyRip Module Dock.
