Why can't I sync music with my MusicMatch Jukebox™ software? |
Yahoo acquired MusicMatch Jukebox and subsequently discontinued distribution of MusicMatch Jukebox as of August 31, 2007 as well as suspending all support of the MusicMatch services.
We appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide service information for your product. Since MusicMatch has been discontinued, no updates will be available for their software.
You may still download music off a music-sharing site of your choice but you will need to use Windows Media Player. To see how to manage files using Windows Media Player, please click here.

Why aren't my songs listed in any of the audio sort modes (Album, Genre, Title, Audio Files) on my RD2780? |
The audio contents of the Lyra AV Jukebox haven't been profiled (sorted) since the last file transfer.
- From the Lyra System Tray Application on your PC, select the Profile Device Contents. From within the Audio menu on the Lyra AV Jukebox, select Profile Contents to run the embedded profiler.
|
Why doesn't the RD2780 Profiler application icon appear in the system tray? |
- You can restart Windows to auto-launch the application, or you can double-click the Lyra Jukebox executable file that’s in the Lyra Jukebox sub-folder of the installation directory that was specified during the setup process – (Example Directory: C:\Program Files\Thomson\Lyra Jukebox\LyraHDTrayApp\LyraHD2TrayApp.exe).
- If the problem persists, you might need to reinstall the Lyra AV Jukebox software.
|
Why isn't my RD2780 Lyra AV Jukebox responding? |
- Inserting a non-metal pointed object (e.g. toothpick) into the Reset hole, located on the bottom side of the unit to reset the device.
- Press ON/OFF to turn device back on.
|
Why aren't some .AVI video files playing on my RD2780 Lyra AV Jukebox? |
- Make sure the video is encoded in MPEG4 and the audio is encoded in mp3 audio. The .AVI files may be encoded in audio/video formats that are not currently supported by the Lyra AV Jukebox device.
Note: The Lyra AV Jukebox can play MPEG4-SP video content encoded with the DivX 4/5 and XviD codecs.
|
Why can't I hear Audio on my Video file with my RD2780? |
- Make sure the audio has been encoded in mp3 audio.
- If connected to an audio/video component using the Line Out cable, make sure the cable is properly connected.
|
Why aren't the Video pictures filling up the entire LCD screen on my RD2780? |
- If the video you recorded was created, from the computer, for example, the video frame size should be 320 pixels (width) by 240 pixels (height) for optimal video playback on your Lyra AV Jukebox, as well as on a TV.
|
Why aren't the Photo files filling up the entire LCD screen on my RD2780? |
- The photo size should have a 4:3 aspect ratio such as 640 pixels (width) by 480 pixels (height) for optimal photo playback.
|
Why aren't the Video or Photo files added to the hard drive through Windows Explorer via drag and drop appearing in navigation mode on my RD2780? |
- Video content must be stored on the hard drive in the VIDEO system folder in order to be properly recognized and available for playback. Sub-folders may be created under the VIDEO system folder for easy navigation and organization of your video files.
- Photo content must be stored on the hard drive in the PHOTOS system folder in order to be properly recognized and available for playback. Sub-folders may be created under the PHOTOS system folder for easy navigation and organization of your photo files.
|
Why doesn't my RD2780 recognize my CompactFlash memory card? |
- Your CompactFlash memory card must first be formatted in Windows using FAT16 format. The default Windows XP format, FAT32, will not work at this time. When formatting your CompactFlash memory card, always select the option enabling FAT16.
Note: FAT16 is displayed as FAT in the Windows 2000 and Windows XP format utility.
|
Why can't I play Video or Audio files directly from the CompactFlash memory card? |
- The Lyra AV Jukebox only allows jpeg (.jpg) photo content to be displayed from the CompactFlash memory card. Because of the memory and processing requirements, all other file types must be copied from the CompactFlash memory card to the device.
|
Why is my RD2780 skipping tracks or has bad sound quality?
|
- Check to see if the repeat, random or program functions may be activated.
- There may be strong magnetic fields (e.g. too close to TV) near the unit.
- Make sure the batteries are fresh.
- Check the source of where the track came from. Play that same song on the computer to verify the song was encoded properly.
|
Why isn't the USB display showing on my RD2780 when connected to my computer? |
- Ensure the USB Drivers are installed (Windows 98SE and Me) that came on the included Music Management CD.
- Restart the computer with the device unplugged. Once started, reconnect the device.
- Check the connection between the device and the computer.
- Turn the device on.
|
How do I reformat my RD2780? |
Reformatting the internal memory will remove all files from the player. Back up any important files to your computer!
To reformat:
- Connect the Lyra to your PC.
- Within WINDOWS EXPLORER, right-click on the drive letter associated with your Lyra and select FORMAT.
- In Windows 2000TM or Windows XPTM, ensure that the file format FAT is selected. NTFS and FAT32 are incompatible with your Lyra.
- From the FORMAT dialog box, select QUICK FORMAT, and then click START.
- Click OK.
- When the format is complete, click OK, and then click CLOSE.
- To reinstall the Lyra system files, download music files to your player using your software.
|
Why can't I find the drive letter for my RD2780 when it is connected to my computer? |
- Make sure the USB cable is inserted securely into the player and the USB port.
- Try another USB port. Avoid the use of USB hubs if possible.
- Disconnect the device and restart your computer. Power the device on and then reconnect it to your computer.
- If you are still having problems, then the drive letter(s) associated with the Lyra™ A/V Jukebox might be associated or assigned to a drive letter already in use by another hard drive, volume, or network drive. If you have properly installed the included USB drivers (Windows 98SE and Windows Me)TM and there are no conflicts within the Device Manager (See configuring Windows XPTM for USB quick removal), then you might need to remap the drive letter to a new drive letter not in use. Please see WindowsTM help for more information on mapping drive letters.

Why does the lock graphic show up on my RD2780 when I press a key? |
The Lyra™ A/V Jukebox mode switch, found on the bottom of the device, has been moved to the “CONTROLS HOLD” position. Slide the switch to the center position marked “NORMAL” to resume normal operations.
|
Why can't I delete files when using the RD2780 with my MAC™ computer? |

- Open the Lyra™ A/V Jukebox volume icon on the desktop.
- Navigate to the folder containing the files you wish to delete.
- Highlight one or all of the file(s) in the folder .
- Right-click on one of the highlighted file(s) to display the file information and select the Get Info menu item.
- From the Info dialog, clear (uncheck) the Locked item. (If multiple items are selected with mixed flags, the Locked checkbox may appear with a dash (-) character. You may have to click on the control several times to clear it).
- Close the Information dialog.
- Return back to the Lyra™ A/V volume on the desktop. The files are now unlocked and can be deleted.
|
Why does "USB Safe Mode" appear on my RD2780's screen when connecting the device to the computer? |
When powering on the Lyra™ A/V Jukebox after connecting the USB cable to your computer, it will enter USB Safe Mode. USB Safe Mode is only required or recommended when you are updating the system files or firmware or when the existing system files on the Lyra™ RD2780 have become corrupted and do not allow the device to boot up to normal operation. It is recommended that you power on the Lyra™ A/V Jukebox device before connecting it to your USB cable for normal file transfer operations.
