Managing Files with the RCA TH1814 MP3 Player

To copy media files to the player, you can use any of the following methods:

• Drag and drop files in Windows Explorer
• RCA EasyRip
• Software provided by online music stores

Managing Files Using Windows Explorer:

To copy files in Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7:

1. Open the player in Windows Explorer.
2. Drag and drop music files onto the drive letter associated with the player.

To delete files in Windows XP or Windows Vista:

For any files you have transferred to the player, you may delete them while you have connected the player with your computer.

1. Open the player in Windows Explorer and then navigate to the folder containing the files.
2. Select the files you want to remove and then press the Delete key on the keyboard of your PC.

Managing Files Using the RCA EasyRip Software:

The RCA EasyRip software was installed automatically the first time you connected this player to your PC. It allows you to:

• Import music from CDs
• Organize your music library on your PC
• Create Playlists
• Copy files from your library to the player
• Copy files from the player to your library
• Delete files from the player

To start EasyRip:

1. First, make sure your player is connected to the PC via the USB port.
2. Second, either click on the RCA system tray icon and select RCA EasyRip from the menu or Double-click the EasyRip icon on your PC's desktop. The EasyRip dock will then appear at the side of your screen.
3. You are now ready to manage and transfer files to your TH1814. For step-by-step instructions, please see below.
   
   

To import music/rip from a music CD to the TH1814:

1. Load your preferred music CD into your PC.
2. Click CD Ripper on the EasyRip dock.
    
3. The CD Ripper window appears.
    
4. The Easy CD Ripper can sometimes get the track names and disc information/artwork from the Internet. If it was not able to get this information automatically, you can edit the information yourself by clicking on Edit Album Info. This will bring up a new screen which allows you to Manually edit any information pertaining to that disc and tracks. When finished editing, click OK.
5. To add tracks to the EasyRip Library or to send them directly to your TH1814, you will need to choose which tracks to add. Click the Check All/Uncheck All checkbox to select all the tracks on the disc or you can manually select the desired tracks by clicking in the checkbox next to those tracks in the list. Any items not checked will not be added to the library or to the player.
6. To import the tracks to the EasyRip Library, click Add Selected to Library.
7. To import the tracks directly to your TH1814 (if the player is connected), click Add Selected to Device.

To load your PC's media content into the EasyRip library (which will then allow you to transfer the content to your TH1814):

1. Click Media Manager on the EasyRip dock.
    
2. The Media Manager Screen appears.
    
3. Click Import Media.
    
4. This will bring up another screen asking you to choose an import method.
    
5. Choose between the file/folder/other options to import your media. This will bring up a screen that will allow you to search through your computers files and folders.
    
6. Click on the file or folder that you wish to import and click on import. The files/folders that you chose will then be added to your EasyRip Library. This may take a few minutes depending on how many files you are importing.
7. Then you can choose the media you would like to add to your TH1814. To do this, select the desired file(s) from the list and then click Add to Player (Tip: To add more than one file at a time, hold down Ctrl while selecting the files in the list). This will bring up the transfer screen and will show the progress of your files/folders/playlists being transferred to your TH1814.

To copy your EasyRip Library content to the TH1814:

1. Click Player Loader on the EasyRip dock.
    
2. The Player Loader window appears.
    
3. In the Player Loader window, click the Check All/Uncheck All checkbox to select all the files in the list or you can manually select the desired files by clicking in the checkbox next to those files in the list. Any items not checked will not be added to the player.
    
4. Once your desired files are selected, click Load Player with Selected. EasyRip will then transfer those files the player.
    

To copy files from the player to your EasyRip library:

1. Click Player Library.
    
2. The Player Library Screen appears.
    
3. Select the desired files by holding down Ctrl and clicking the files.
4. Once the desired files are selected, click Add to PC Library.

To delete selected files from the TH1814:

1. Open Player Library.
    
2. The Player Library Screen appears.
    
3. Select the unwanted files by holding down Ctrl and clicking the files.
4. One the unwanted files are all selected, click Remove from Player.
