How do I download the latest version of the RCA easyRip™ Media Software?
- Connect your device to your computer prior to installation.
- Click here to download the RCA easyRip™ installer file.
- Select "Save" file.
- Select the appropriate folder to save the installer to on your PC.
- Run the downloaded installer and follow the instructions to complete the installation.
If your computer does not recognize the player:
- Make sure your computer's operating system is up to date with the latest Service Packs and patches.
- Plug the player into a different USB port. Avoid the use of USB hubs if possible. Avoid Laptop docking cradles if possible.
- Reboot the PC.
- Connect the player to the PC while holding the play/pause button.
These steps should allow the player to be read by the USB port correctly and will show the player in "My Computer" as a new drive letter.
If the download was not successful because you attempting a re-install of the software:
- Go to My Documents.
- Locate the RCA easyRip™ folder.
- Right-click the folder and select Delete.
- Then, also locate the RCA easyRip™ in your Start Menu.
- Right-click and select Delete.
- If there is a shortcut to RCA easyRip™ on your desktop, right-click it and select Delete.
These steps should remove any remnants of the RCA easyRip™ Media Software and will remove all easyRip™ functionality. Then you will be able to successfully download and install the RCA easyRip™ Media Software.

Why did the upgrade of the RCA easyRip™ Media Software fail?
If you see the "Initializing…" message displayed on the Player for more than 5 minutes, or your Player cannot be upgraded successfully, please try the following steps:
- Disconnect the player from your computer.
- Reset your player.
- If your player uses AA or AAA batteries, remove them from the player.
- If your player uses an internal battery, press and hold the POWER button for 10 seconds.
- Hold down the Play key on your player and connect it to the PC via a USB cable.
- Release the Play key when a progress bar and text, "initializing" appears on the player's display. If you cannot see the "initializing" text, please disconnect your player and try again.

How do I uninstall the RCA easyRip™ Media Software?
To uninstall the RCA easyRip™ Media Software:
- Go to My Computer or to the Control Panel.
- Choose Add/Remove Programs.
- Scroll down to or choose the RCA easyRip™ program.
- Remove RCA easyRip™.
- Scroll down to or choose the RCA Detective.
- Remove the RCA Detective.
- Reboot your computer.
If the RCA Detective does not appear in the Add/Remove Programs list or your computer does not allow you to uninstall RCA easyRip™ from the Add/Remove Programs list:
- Go to My Documents.
- Locate the RCA easyRip™ folder.
- Right-click the folder and select Delete.
- Then, also locate the RCA easyRip™ in your Start Menu.
- Right-click and select Delete.
- If there is a shortcut to RCA easyRip™ on your desktop, right-click it and select Delete.
These steps should remove any remnants of the RCA easyRip™ Media Software and will remove all easyRip™ functionality.

Why am I getting an error message that states "You must have an RCA Digital Media Player connected to complete the RCA easyRip™ installation. This error may be a result of multiple RCA devices connected during installation. Please verify that you only have 1 device connected." when trying to install the RCA easyRip™ Installer, even though I have only 1 device connected?
- If you are using a computer with multiple USB ports, try connecting your player to a different USB port in your computer. Please try other USB ports located on the front or back of your PC.
- If you are using a laptop with a docking station, please temporarily remove the laptop from the docking station and connect the player directly to the laptop.
- If you are using a hub, please temporarily remove the hub and connect the player directly to the PC.
If you are still having issues please download the latest installation files located at the top of this answer and follow the installation instructions.
Note: You must still have your RCA Digital Media Player connected to your computer during the installation.

Why does the RCA easyRip™ Player Loader convert my video files before transferring them to my device?
In order for video content to be viewed on your device, it must be converted to a format compatible with your device.
Note: The video conversion process relies on the video codecs already installed on your PC. To ensure that a video file will be converted properly, verify that it plays on your computer. Be advised, however, that some video files may rely on specialized video playback applications that are not compatible with the video conversion software.

Why am I getting an error message that states "No codec available" when trying to transfer videos to my device?
To put videos onto your device, please follow the steps below:
- Have your computer's media player open with the video in it that you wish to transfer to the player up on your computer.
- Open the easyRip™ software if not already open.
- Click on the camera button on the easyRip™. Once you do so, you will see a toolbar and 4 green corners appear.
- Place the green corners over the corners of the video.
- Once you have the corners positioned, press the record (rec) button on the toolbar and than play on your computer's media player. You will see the green corners now flashing red which means it is recording your video.
- Once your video has ended, press the stop button on the toolbar.
- Once you have pressed stop, it will prompt you to name the video and save.
- After the video has saved (in the easyRip™), click on the PC Library button on the easyRip™.
- Click on the tab that says Video's.
- Select the video and then click on "Add to Player".

How do I set up my computer's audio card for the Audio and Video Recorder modules in the RCA easyRip™ Media software?
To adjust the Volume Control in Windows XP™:
- Go to your PC's Control Panel by clicking Start, then Control Panel.
- If you are in Category View, select the "Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices" category.
- If you are viewing Icons Select the "Sounds and Audio Devices" Control Panel icon.
- Select the Audio tab.
- In the "Sound Recording" box, Click on the "Volume..." button.

To adjust the Sound Card Properties in Windows XP™:
- Navigate to your PC's Control Panel by clicking Start, then Control Panel.
- If you are in Category View, select the "Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices" category.
- If you are in Classic View, select the "Sounds and Audio Devices" Control Panel icon.
- Select the Audio tab.
- In the "Sound Recording" box, select your Sound Card from the drop-down menu, then click Apply.

- Select the "What U Hear", "Wave Out Mix" or "Stereo Mix" option, press the "Set as Default" button and press OK. If you don't see either of these options: Right-click on any portion of the white space area (not on text) in the list and select the "Show Hidden Devices" option.

Why is the frame too small on Windows 7 after installing the easyRip Media Software?
If you are using Windows 7 and the frame is to small or you cannot see the next button on the easyRip install, then please follow the directions below:
How to revert to normal font size in Windows 7 for easyRip installation:
- Right-click desktop
- Click properties
- Click appearance tab
- Click font size: normal
- Install easyRip
- Optional: After installing easyRip you can change the font size back to large if you so desire.
