Operating the Code Alarm CA440TW Remote Start Security System

REMOTE STARTING THE VEHICLE

To start the vehicle:

1. Press and release the KEY icon button two times within 2 seconds (for optional 1 BUTTON start press and hold the KEY icon for 3 seconds). The vehicle will start and remain running for the pre-programmed 5, 10, 15, 20 minute run cycle. As a visual indication, the parking lights will flash or remain on depending on the setting by your installation center.
2. When you arrive at the vehicle, turn the ignition key to the ON position (not the spring loaded start position), then step on the brake pedal to disengage the remote starter. The vehicle will continue to run, but now on it's own power.

The system will not start the vehicle if any one of the following situations exists:

• The vehicle's hood is opened.
• The gear shift selector is not in Park.
• The brake pedal is depressed.

2-WAY TRANSMITTER CONFIRMATION

The 2-way transmitter confirms the commands sent to the system by illuminating the transmitter button. When the system receives a command from the 2-way transmitter, a signal is then sent back to the transmitter and the transmitter's button will begin to flash. The number of flashes will indicate the vehicle's status. 2 Flashes = Vehicle received command, 1 Flash every 8 seconds = Vehicle is remote started, 4 Flashes = Vehicle did not start.

SHUTTING DOWN THE REMOTE START

Press and release the "STAR" button on the transmitter 2 times. The vehicle will shut down.

NOTE: Remote Start activation/shutdown can be configured for single or double press, refer to the programmable features section of the installation manual.

UNLOCKING THE VEHICLE (optional)

To unlock the vehicle's doors press and hold the transmitter button for 3 seconds anytime the vehicle is remote started.

Note: Additional parts and/or labor may be necessary, see your installing dealer for details.

VALET MODE

Valet Mode is used to disable the system from remote starting. To enter or exit valet mode simply follow the steps below:

1. Push and hold the programming/valet button.
2. Cycle the ignition ON/OFF, ON/OFF, ON/OFF.
3. Release the programming/valet button.

TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING

If the need arises for programming of additional or replacement transmitters, simply follow the 4 steps outlined below:

1. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
2. Press and release the programming button 3 times.
3. Press and hold the button of the transmitter you wish to add for 3 seconds. The parking lights will flash indicating the transmitter has been learned.
4. Repeat step 3 for each transmitter up to a total of 4.
