Remote Operation for the Code Alarm CA500 Keyless Entry and Remote Start System 

Keyless Entry

The LOCK button on the transmitter is used to lock the vehicle's doors, the UNLOCK button is used to unlock the vehicle's doors. To lock or unlock the doors simply press and release the desired function button one time. For your convenience, the parking lights will flash once when the doors are locked and twice when the door are unlocked.

Trunk Release

The TRUNK button on the transmitter is used to open the trunk of the vehicle. To open the vehicle's trunk PRESS and HOLD the TRUNK button for 3 seconds.

Remote Starting the Vehicle

The system WILL NOT start the vehicle if any one of the following situations exist:

• The vehicle's hood is opened.
• The gear shift selector is not in Park.
• The brake pedal is depressed.
• The safety control switch is in the OFF position.

To Start the Vehicle:

1. Press press and release the "STAR" button on the transmitter 2 times* within 2 seconds. The vehicle will start and remain running for the pre-programmed 5,10,15,20 minute run cycle. As a visual indication, the parking lights will flash or remain on depending on the setting by your installation center.
2. When you arrive at the vehicle, turn the ignition key to the ON position (Do not try to restart the vehicle), then step on the brake pedal to disengage the remote start. The vehicle will continue to run, but now on it's own power.

*Note: Remote Start activation can be configured for single or double press, refer to the programmable features section of the installation manual.

Shutting Down the Remote Start: Press and release the "STAR" button on the transmitter 2 times*. The vehicle will shut down.

Safety (Red Handled) Control Switch: The control switch allows you to temporarily disable the remote starting function of your Remote Start system. To disable the unit, move the red handled control switch to the OFF position.

Programming Transmitters

This system is capable of holding up to 4 transmitters in memory. For programming additional transmitters refer to page 11 of the installation manual.
