Operating the Pursuit PRO9775 Remote Start Security System
Arming the System - Active:	Turn off the ignition, exit the vehicle, and close all doors, hood lid and trunk lid. Press and release the Arm/Lock button on the key chain transmitter. The doors will lock, the LED will begin to flash slowly and the vehicle's parking lamps will flash once, and the siren/horn sounds one chirp.
Silent Arming - Active:	Turn off the engine, exit the vehicle and close all doors, hood lid and trunk lid. Press and hold the Arm/Lock button on the key chain transmitter for two seconds. Red dash mounted LED begins to flash slowly, and the parking Lights flash one time. The Siren/Horn will not sound. The door locks are optional.
Arming the System - Passive (Automatic):	Turn the ignition key off, exit the vehicle, and close all doors, hood lid, and trunk lid. The LED will begin to flash rapidly, 30 seconds later the system is armed. Opening any protected entry point during the 30 second passive arming cycle will immediately suspend automatic arming and the 30 second passive arming cycle will re-start when all doors are closed. At the end of the passive arming cycle the LED begins to flash slowly, the parking lights flash one time, the siren/horn sounds one chirp and the door locks are optional.
Protection while the system is armed:	Opening any protected door, hood, or trunk lid will cause the alarm to immediately sound. The alarm will continue to sound for 30 seconds, then stop and continue to monitor all protected entry points. If the thief left a door opened, the alarm will sound for six 30 second cycles, remain armed and ignore that triggered zone. Whenever the system is armed, the red dash mounted LED indicator will slowly flash. This serves as a visual deterrent to the potential thief. The LED is a very low current bulb and will not cause the vehicle's battery to drain, even when left unattended for long periods of time. Whenever the system is triggered, the vehicle's parking lights will flash for the full 30 second alarm cycle, attracting visual attention to the vehicle. Whenever the system is armed, the vehicle's starting circuit will be bypassed. If the thief should choose to ignore the siren/horn, the vehicle can not be started. Any strong impact to the vehicle will cause the alarm to trigger for the full 30 second alarm cycle. Any mild impact to the vehicle will cause the alarm to sound a short series of warning tones.
Disarming the System:	As you approach the vehicle, press and release the Disarm/Unlock button on the key chain transmitter. The LED will turn off, the vehicle's parking lamps will flash 2 times, the doors will unlock (optional) and the siren/horn will sound two chirps.
Silent Disarming:	As you approach the vehicle, press and hold the Disarm/Unlock button on the key chain transmitter for 2 seconds. The LED turns off, the parking lights flash two times, the siren/horn does not sound, and the door will unlock (optional).
While the System is Sounding:	If during a triggered state, you wish to shut off the siren without disarming your security system, simply press and release any transmitter button other than the disarm button. This action will turn off the siren yet leave the vehicle fully armed and protected. This feature is particularly useful if you are aware of children playing near your vehicle that may accidentally trigger your security system. In this case you can cancel the siren sounding without disarming your security system.
Intrusion Warning Signals:	This system will inform you if an intrusion attempt has occurred while you were away from the vehicle. If an intrusion attempt has occurred, the siren/horn will chirp 4 times and the parking lights will flash 3 times when disarming the system. Enter the vehicle and observe the red dash mounted LED to identify which zone was triggered. If the LED is flashing one time...pause...one time...pause...etc., then in intrusion attempt was made to the optional shock sensor, or an accessory triggering device that may have been added to the system. If the LED is flashing two times...pause...two times...pause...etc., then an intrusion attempt was made to a hood or trunk pin switch that was added to the system, or to a light activated entry point if the alarm was installed using the voltage sensing feature. If the LED is flashing three times...pause...three times...pause...etc., then an intrusion attempt was made through one of the vehicle's doors. These intrusion warning indicators are stored in the system's memory and will only be erased when the ignition key is turned on.
Valet Switch:	The valet switch allows you to temporarily bypass all alarm functions, eliminating the need to hand your transmitter to parking attendants or garage mechanics. When the system is in valet mode, all alarm functions are bypassed, however the remote panic feature and remote door locks will remain operational. To use the valet mode, the system must first be disarmed either by using your key chain transmitter, or by manually overriding the system: Enter the vehicle and turn the ignition key to the On position. Press and hold the valet/override push-button switch until the LED turns on solid. The system will remain in valet mode.  To return to normal operation, press and release the push-button switch any time the ignition is on. Note: Always remember to exit the valet mode to ensure that the vehicle remains protected at all times.
Using the Valet Switch Manual Override:	Your security system can be disarmed without the use of the key chain transmitter. This is necessary since you will need the ability to operate your vehicle if the transmitter is lost or its battery fails. If your system has been selected for Valet Switch Manual Override as indicated on the last page of your owner's manual, to bypass the alarm system: Open the vehicle door. Turn the ignition key to the on position. Within 5 seconds, press and release the valet push-button switch. The system will stop sounding and enter the (bypassed) mode. You can now start and operate the vehicle normally. Typically this override mode is used only if the transmitter has become inoperative.
Programming Your Custom Override Code:	To program you custom override code, programmable feature #9 must be selected for the Custom Code Option. Consult your installation center for programming details. The system comes from the factory with a pre-programmed override code of 11. To change this default override code, do the following: Disarm the system by use of the transmitter, or by use of the emergency override sequence. Turn the ignition switch to the on position. Within 10 seconds, press and release the valet/override switch 3 times. Within 10 seconds, turn the ignition switch off, on, off, on, off, on (the lights will flash one time). Within 10 seconds, begin to enter the tenths digit of the override code by pressing and releasing the override push-button switch 1 through 9 times. Within 10 seconds, turn the ignition switch off then on. Within 10 seconds, begin to enter the units digit by pressing and releasing the push-button switch 1 through 9 times. Finish by turning the ignition switch to the off position. If the new code was accepted, the unit will report back the newly entered code, by flashing the LED, first indicating the 10ths digit, pause and then the units digit. The unit will report the new code three times with a once second pause between each code, then the system will begin arming (if passive arming has been selected). If the LED flash pattern reports the previously stored code, the new code was not entered correctly. Please repeat steps 1 through 8 above considering the following: Notes: Acceptable digits 10ths or units are 1 through 9. The unit will not recognize a Zero or no digit entered in any place. If 15 seconds of inactivity expire, or if the ignition switch is turned off for more than 5 seconds during any of the above steps, the unit will revert back to the last successfully stored code.
Using Custom Code Override:	Assuming the override code programmed has not been changed, and the default override code of 11 is in the system's memory: Enter the vehicle and turn the ignition switch to the on position. Within 5 seconds, press and release the push-button switch 1 time. Within 5 seconds, turn the ignition switch off then on. Within 5 seconds, press and release the push-button switch 1 time. Turn the ignition switch off then on and start the vehicle. (If optional parking light relay was installed, the light will flash twice, if the optional horn annunciation circuit was installed, the horn will beep twice). Note: If you have changed the programmed override code then substitute your new code tenths for step 2 above, and units for step 5 above.
Eliminating the Normal Arm/Disarm Chirps:	You can eliminate the chirps selectively any time you arm or disarm the system simply by holding the Arm/Disarm button for two seconds. If you find the normal arming and disarming chirps annoying, they can be turned off permanently, eliminating the need to hold the Arm/Disarm button for two seconds. To eliminate chirps: With the valet switch in the off position, turn the ignition key on then off. Within 10 seconds, press and release the valet push-button switch three times. If the chirps were on before you started, then you will hear 2 chirps indicating they have been turned off. If the chirps were off before you started, then you hear one chirp indicating they have been turned on. Note: If the siren/horn chirps two times, regardless of the valet switch operation as described above, then the horn and siren chirps have been turned off via programming features 7 and 8. Contact your installation center or Audiovox technical department for information on how to reinstate the chirp feature through programming. Note: Whenever the chirps are by-passed, the 4 chirp intrusion indicator and 3 chirp defective zone indicator will always operate. Since these are important warnings to you that something has happened, they cannot be eliminated.
Remote Panic Operation:	The Lock or Unlock button on your key chain transmitter also functions as a panic switch for use in emergency situations. To use remote panic: Press and hold the Lock or Unlock button on the key chain transmitter for 3 or more seconds. The alarm will immediately sound. To stop the alarm: Press and hold the Lock or Unlock button on the transmitter again for 3 seconds. If the button is not pressed, the alarm will automatically stop after 30 seconds. Also if any transmitter button other than the Lock or Unlock button is pressed and released, the Panic mode will be turned off immediately. The normal function of this transmitter button will be suspended during the Panic sounding period. Note: While in the Panic mode, pressing and releasing the Lock or the Unlock buttons will, if the option is installed, lock and unlock the doors respectively. While in the Panic mode, anytime the unlock button is pressed, the panic feature will continue for the allowed 30 seconds, however, the security system will be disarmed allowing the vehicle to start.
Safety (Red Handled) Control Switch:	The control switch allows you to temporarily disable the remote starting function of your system. To disable the unit, move the red handled control switch to the off position. The control switch also allows you to select between 2 hour start up and 4 hour start up when using the automatic start up timer mode. The factory preset start up time for this mode is every 4 hours. To select between 2 or 4 hour start up timer: Begin with the control switch in the on position. Turn the ignition switch on then off. Within 10 seconds, move the control switch off, on, off, on (2 cycles) to select a 2 hour start timer. After 10 seconds expire, the parking lights will flash and the siren will chirp 2 times confirming that the two hour start cycle is set. Or within 10 seconds move the control switch off, on, off, on, off, on, off, on (4 cycles) to select a 4 hour start timer. The parking lights will flash and the siren will chirp 4 times confirming that the 4 hour start timer is set.
Remote Starting the Vehicle:	The Remote Control Unit WILL NOT start the vehicle if any one of the following conditions exists: The vehicle hood is open, The gear selector is in any gear other than Park. The Brake is depressed. The Safety Control Switch is in the off position. CAUTION: Be certain that the vehicle is outdoors before using this or any remote vehicle starting device. A running engine produces dangerous carbon monoxide fumes which can be harmful or fatal if prolonged exposure occurs. DO NOT remote start the vehicle if it is garaged. To Remote Start the Vehicle: Press and Release the transmitter button with the Trunk/Key symbol on it, two times within 2 seconds. The vehicle will start and remain running for the pre-programmed 5, 10, 15, or 20 minutes. As a visual indication, the parking lights will flash or turn on depending on the programming set up by your installation center. When you arrive at your vehicle, disarm the alarm system by pressing and releasing the unlock/disarm button of your key chain transmitter. Enter the vehicle and turn the ignition key to the on position. CAUTION: Do not turn the key to the start position. This will cause the starter motor to engage with the already running engine which could result in damage. Step on the brake pedal to disengage the remote start unit. The vehicle will continue to run but now on its own power. Note: The engine will stop running before the expiration of the pre-programmed run timer if you complete any of the following: Press and release trunk/key button two times within 2 seconds. Depress the brake pedal. Open the hood. Move the red handled control switch to the off position. Race the engine to above 4000 RPM.
Operating on Automatic Start Up Timer Mode:	The system has the ability to automatically start the vehicle every 2 or 4 hours over a 48 hour period. This feature is especially useful in cold climates where the only means to keep the engine and engine fluids warm is to periodically start the engine. CAUTION: Be certain that the vehicle is outdoors before using this or any remote vehicle starting device. A running engine produces dangerous carbon monoxide fumes which can be harmful or fatal if prolonged exposure occurs. DO NOT remote start the vehicle if it is garaged. To Begin the Automatic Start Up Timer: Turn the ignition key on then off. Within 10 seconds, activate the RF start command two times (push the trunk/key button 4 times). The parking lights will flash and the siren will chirp 4 times indicating the timed start mode is activated. The vehicle, on a 2 or 4 hour interval basis, will automatically start, run for the pre-programmed time (5, 10, 15, or 20 minutes), and then shut off. This will continue for 48 hours. Note: The automatic start up timer can also be initiated from the key chain transmitter. To do this: Start the vehicle using the key chain transmitter by pressing and releasing the trunk/key button two times. Shut off the vehicle using the key chain transmitter by pressing and releasing the trunk/key button 2 times. Within 10 seconds of step 2, activate the RF start command two times (push the trunk/key button 4 times). The parking lights will flash and the siren will chirp 4 times indicating the timed start mode is activated. To cancel the automatic start up timer do one of the following: Start the vehicle manually with the use of the ignition key and depress the brake pedal. Remote start the vehicle using your key chain RF transmitter.
Additional Remote Function (Channel 3):	This security system has an additional feature that can be connected to a number of different optional accessories. Some of the more common uses for this channel are: Remote Trunk Release  Remote Window Closure Remote Garage Door Interface To operate the accessory associated with channel 3, press and hold the trunk/key button(s) of your key chain transmitter for four seconds. Note: The feature that has been added to channel 3 will always be operated using the same transmitter button that controls the remote start unit. There is no way to move the channel 3 function to a different channel.
Additional Remote Function (Channel 4):	This security system has an additional feature that can be connected to a number of different optional accessories. Some of the more common uses for this channel are: Remote Trunk Release  Remote Window Closure Remote Garage Door Interface To operate the accessory associated with channel 4, press and release the Option button(s) of your key chain transmitter. Note: The channel 4 output will remain active for as long as the transmitter button(s) are held. Certain accessories may take advantage of the extended output capability of this channel. Check with your installation center for operation of the accessory that may be connected to channel 4.
