Remote Controlled Functions Remote controlled door lock/unlock, illuminated entry/exit and remote controlled trunk release may require additional parts and labor to hook-up. Because additional parts and labor may be required these features are referred to as optional features and not standard features.
Arming System When There Is An Active Zone: When there is an open door or other sensor trigger present (active zone) when the system enters pre-arm, the system begins a 4-1/2 minute countdown at the end of which, it bypasses the active zone. The siren then emits the second arm chirp indicating the system is armed with the bypassed zone unprotected. If the active zone becomes inactive before the 4-1/2 minute countdown ends, the system will then fully arm with all zones protected. If the bypassed zone turns inactive after the 4-1/2 minute countdown ends, that zone will remain unprotected until the system is disarmed and then rearmed. |

Optional Feature The optional feature output is capable of many different functions. Although normally for trunk release, it can instead be used to control such applications as remote car start or stereo system valet. Consult your installer about these and other possible applications. They will be able to suggest which are best suited for your system. Trunk Release*: Press the 'O' button on the remote control transmitter. When the system receives the transmitted signal, it will respond by activating the trunk release output. If the security system is armed when the trunk release output is activated, the security system will be disarmed and the doors unlocked. If you are going to leave the vehicle unattended, remember to rearm the security system with the remote control transmitter. When the ignition key is on, the optional feature output is disabled to prevent the trunk or hatch from being opened while driving.

System Maintenance Your CODE ALARM security system does not require any specific maintenance except for occasionally changing transmitter batteries. However. it is suggested that the system be armed and all protected zones should be checked about once a month to make sure that they trigger an alarm cycle. Should the system malfunction in any way, contact your CODE ALARM dealer as soon as possible for service. CHANGING THE TRANSMITTER BATTERIES: During normal usage the batteries in your remote control transmitter should last about three years. When the battery begins to weaken you will notice that the transmitter range will begin to decrease. It is suggested that you change the transmitter battery every three years even if you do not notice a decrease in transmitter range.
