Have you had any luck in solving this mystery. I submitted another request. Simply referring to other submissions for issues relating to the product isn't helpful if they can[t point you to the one that contains the answer to your questions.
I just purchased one of these units and put in a support request for the firmware as well. It also would be nice to see the images on the Instructions page, as the links to them are apparently broken. Is anyone else able to see the images?

Yes, they emailed it to me. I haven't tried it yet but if it works I will post it for you.
